Manger Scene
I think this stamp by Hambo Stamps is precious. It is a very nice image for Christmas but with a bit of the Hambo twist... The sentiment is also one of their new Christmas images. I thought this image would work nicely with this cool snowflake paper from SEI. I also used some ribbon with snowflakes from my stash which miraculously matched the color in the paper. That usually NEVER happens for me, so maybe there was a little divine intervention involved.....

Hippo Presents
This is another one of the Holiday Digi stamps from Hambo Stamps! Isn't he adorable???? The sentiment is also by Hambo Stamps (not a digi). I decided to part from the traditional color palette for this one. I was TOTALLY inspired by this paper from Bo Bunny and kept to the colors in the paper. I LOVE IT!

Merry Christmas Sled
I think this digi sled stamp from Hambo Stamps is so nice! I kept this one super simple and thought the old fashioned paper from the Basic Grey holiday collection was perfect for this one.
It reminds me of when I was about 3 years old and we had a HUGE snow in Tennessee...now mind you that a HUGE snow in Tennessee is nothing like a HUGE snow somewhere up north...but it really was a big thing for us. I have some old slides with me during this big snow that I have been working on scanning so I can create a slide show to play on a DVD. At the bottom of this post is one of the pictures of me in all my winter glory! The toboggan and snow suit were hand knitted by my grandmother.

Happy Birthday Grandmother Helen!
My grandmother just celebrated her birthday on Sunday and this is the card I made especially for her! She refers to all of my handmade cards as "keepers," so I guess this is another one!
I just love this image from Penny Black. I let the image do all the talking, so no sentiment needed for the outside! The patterned paper is from Basic Grey.

Just Be-Caws...
Been a while since I have posted any cards. I have been sick, so not much crafting going on in my house lately. The next few posts probably wouldn't be here if I hadn't done some image coloring a few weeks ago!
This scary entry (LOL) is a fun set from Hambo Stamps that is perfect for any occasion! It would also serve as a humorous card for Thanksgiving...assuming your family is a bit "off-center" like mine!!!

Jack Frost....
Another new set of Christmas stamps from Hambo Stamps! I think this sentiment is one of my all-time favorites from Hambo! The other half of the sentiment says "By the way, you're out of eggnog." What a hoot! For this card I paired the cute new singing snowman trio, the music notes, and the sentiment. I thought it made a great card! The paper is from the holiday collection by My Mind's Eye.

For the calorie watchers...
I love this cute set of stamps from Hambo Stamps! I was going to put the nutritional facts on the back of the card, but I thought it was too important to relegate it to that location! Now if only those cookies were as nutritious as the card! LOL
The patterned paper is from Imaginisce. They have a whole series using this non-traditional color palette and I love it! Sometimes I get tired of the usual red and green colors and like to mix it up a bit.

Cat in a Wreath
This is one of the new Christmas stamps from Hambo Stamps. Being a cat lover, I had to have this one! I used some of my new paper from Crate Paper and thought it would be a nice whimsical option for this cute image. I also used some snowflake brads to add some dimension. They don't show up very well in the picture...

Where's the Rest of this Moose?
If you are old enough to remember the movie Arthur with the late Dudley Moore, this might ring a bell. When I was younger my brother and I were fans of this movie and one of our favorite scenes was when Arthur was in the study looking up at a stuffed moose head and says "where's the rest of this moose?" We loved that one. When I found this moose stamp (can't remember the company) that is all I could think of. Since my brother's birthday was coming up, I finally managed to get a card put together using this image. I decided to cut a window in the card and have the moose's face showing through and when you open it up, you see the whole moose.
One of the other favorite lines was: "He's taking the knife out of the cheese....you think he wants some cheese?" What a hoot. I will have to watch that one again sometime. One of my other favorite movies of his is an older obscure movie with Peter Cook called "The Hound of the Baskervilles." It is based on the novel, but only in the loosest terms! What a scream....I guess I am a sucker for that strange British style of humor.

On the back of the card as a signature, I used a funny stamp of a mouse sitting at a computer using a "human" instead of a mouse....I forgot to take a picture of it! Since my brother works with computers for a living, I just had to include that one as well. I will have to use it another time to make a card so I can share!

Blueberry Girl
This is the second card I made for my co-worker. This time it was for her daughter. Again, the photo is kind of dark, but it was late and those new energy saving light bulbs don't put out enough light to do photography late at night. I will have to take them earlier in the day or put in some brighter bulbs! The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil. The background paper is from a pad of paper I have had for some time...can't remember the company.

Never lose your sense of wonder
Sorry if this is a bit dark. It was late at night and I couldn't get the lighting right. I was asked by a co-worker for two birthday cards for her daughter and son. This is the first of the two. On the inside I created text that said "I Hope you never lose your sense of wonder." I thought it would be a nice sentiment for her son. The image is by Mo's Digital Pencil. Since it was a card for a guy, I kept the layout super simple and let the image speak for itself.

Halloween Checklist
I have been on a stamping roll lately! I think it may be the fall weather (FINALLY!) and because I saw lots of "eye candy" at the stamp show in South Carolina last month. I was inspired to get busy and make up for lost time!
I wanted this "Halloween Checklist" stamp from Hambo last year, but it was out of stock. As soon as I saw they had it again, it was at the TOP of my list! I just think it is hilarious! I paired it with this adorable ghosty stamp and put it on some of the cool background paper I found at a stamp store (on the trip to SC). Several of my stamping buddies made a weekend out of the trip and stopped at several stores on the way down to the show. I found all kinds of new patterned papers to use!

The Tribe? has spoken
Here is another fun card I made with my own personal "take" on the tribe sentiment by Hambo Stamps! It was meant to go with Chief Hambooli, but I had to try something different!
I stamped and masked several of the surfer pig images to make my own "tribe." I don't know if 6 surfer pigs is really a tribe, but I think it is funny! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I kept the color palette simple to match the paper and I love the end result!

Warped Happy Birthday Card!
Okay...so I admit I am a little "off" when it comes to my sense of humor....and I am PROUD of it! lol
When I saw this fractured funny from Hambo Stamps, my crazy sense of humor kicked in. It is designed to go with a cute stamp of party pigs eating birthday cake (their mouths are full of cake). Well...that seems a bit normal to me. So, what I wanted to do was pair it with this fun beast who seems to have a smirk on his face...as if he has been up to something!
Copic Colors Used:
Beast: YG0000, YG00, YG01, YG03
Spikes/Spots: V01, V05, V06

Owl's it Goin?
Can you tell that I love this cute owl stamp from Hambo Stamps? I found this great paper with owls on it (I think it is from My Mind's Eye) and just had to get him out again! The sentiment is also from Hambo.
This was a super simple card to make. I love it when you get coordinating patterns that go together so well. It makes it SO EASY!

Just Chicken on You
I used some paper from Bo Bunny that seemed to scream "farm" to me. I wanted to make a quickie card to send to someone I have not heard from in a while. I thought the "Just Chicken on You sentiment would be perfect! The chicken (and the sentiment) are from Hambo Stamps. The chicken is from a set of three, but I decided to just use one of them for this pint-sized card.
I had a hard time getting the colors right on the chicken, so she turned out a bit funny colored (the photo didn't help any). Oh well...maybe she rolled around in some red-clay mud or something!
Copic Colors Used:
Chicken: W00, W0; E40, E41 (not feeling this color combo AT ALL!)

In Lieu of a Gift...
I just L•O•V•E this sentiment from Hambo Stamps! I was trying to decide what image to pair it with and thought this "Say Cheese" mouse stamp (also from Hambo) would go perfectly! Wouldn't it be great if we could "gift ourselves" this way frequently?
Not sure who made the patterened paper, it was from my scrap bin and it no longer had a label. It is probably an older Basic Grey paper (considering that is the majority of my collection!)
Copic Colors Used:
Cheese: Y32, Y35, Y38
Mouse: C00, C0, C1

Trick or TREAT
Definitely TREAT! This fun bag o' candy from Hambo Stamps is so much fun to color. I kept the design super simple to feature the stamp and the fun Halloween paper from Heidi Grace (I have had it in my stash since last year). I kept trying to put a sentiment or doo-dad on there, but it just looked better without! I tend to over-think things sometimes.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Today is my mom's birthday so I had to send her a very special birthday card. I know she has received it, so it is safe to post! (I accidentally posted another card before someone got it....color me embarrassed!)
I got this great stamp on a recent trip to a stamp show in SC. The stamp is from Art Impressions and I hee-hawed when I saw it...or should I say "CATerwalled?"
The sentiment that goes with it says "you say I'm catty like it's a bad thing." I had to send a funny card. I don't usually do "mushy" cards for her. She knows I love her a lot, so I enjoy making her laugh...thus the funny cards!
The patterned paper was from a pack of the New Basic Grey collection called Pyrus.

Fall Blog Makeover
I thought it was time to do a little makeover on my blog. I wanted to try out the new Design template feature in Blogger, so this is the result. The only thing that I still don't like is the header, but perhaps I can come up with something later!

Welcome to your new home
A dear friend and his wife are moving into a new home and I wanted to give them a card to wish them an uneventful move. Since it is now fall, I decided to use some cool paper I found at a stamp store during my recent trip to a stamp show in South Carolina. The picture doesn't do it justice...the leaves are embossed and shiny! I used a stamp from Stampendous (I think that is who makes it). Just a simple row of houses that I colored to match the paper. A super simple card, but I think it turned out nice.

Are you in need of Ribbon???
I am a serious lover (aka collector) of ribbon! If you haven't been to Hambo Stamps lately, you have to check them out. They have a nice BIG order of ribbon from May Arts. There are all kinds of grosgrain ribbons, satin ribbons, and some WICKED fun shapes for the holidays. And right now...THEY ARE 50% off! Yes....I said 50% off!
Go check em out. I have already placed my order and can't wait for them to arrive so I can PLAY!
Go check em out. I have already placed my order and can't wait for them to arrive so I can PLAY!
I admire your optimism
This owl by Hambo Stamps reminds me of the character on the Tootsie Roll Pops Commercial (does that date me a lot?). I love this fractured funny (also by Hambo Stamps) and could just imagine this smarmy owl saying this. The inside says "I mean at YOUR age, isn't buying green bananas a gamble?" LOL is that funny or what!!!!
This would make a great card for someone who is getting up there in age! The paper is from a sample pad of one of the new Basic Grey lines...pyrus. I love the earthy, muted colors. Just my thing!

Best Fishes to You
I found this cute paper at a stamp show in Winston-Salem in July. I thought it was too cute. I have quite a few "fishy" stamps and thought it would work great with this whimsical seahorse from Hambo Stamps. The sentiment is also from the Hambo collection.
I decided to step outside my typical color box and tried this cool combo. I didn't realize until afterwards that it looks a lot like the Miami Dolphins colors...I did not plan it that way, but I guess if you are a Dolphins fan...then this card is for you!!!

Spooky Tree
This is one of my favorite creations as of late. I have been in a bit of a creative funk, so this lifted me up and I found a bit of stamping mojo. I was inspired by the cool patterned paper by K & Company. I LOVE this paper...it makes me wish that the weather was cool and crisp instead of stinkin HOT!
The stamp is by Hambo Stamps and I wish you could see the sparkle of the moon... I used a clear spica to give it some bling! I used a white gel pen to create the dotted lines along the bottom pieces. I was trying to mimick the earth in the stamped image.

Witch Hat Trio
Gosh I love Halloween! I think I enjoy doing Halloween cards more than just about anything. I'm not really sure why, but I have stopped trying to psycho-analyze it and am just going with the flow!!! This funky striped paper is from K & Company and it has some of my favorite colors: lime green and purple!
This cute stamp (and sentiment) is from Hambo Stamps and was so much fun to color. It could be done in a myriad of colors to fit ANY paper you might have on hand. The tag die is a Cuttlebug one. I almost didn't get the sentiment on it, but it made it!

Please Bring Me Cooler Weather!
It has been a miserable hot summer and I can't wait for some crisp fall air! I was hoping that by making this card I could generate some good mojo and bring on the cooler weather! After looking at the forecast, I'm not sure it was very helpful. Oh well...I can dream can't I?
The pumpkin trio and sentiment are from Hambo Stamps. The cool paper is from K & Company.

When Pigs Fly
This "floating pig" is a great image from Timbo at Hambo Stamps! It could be used in many ways, but I decided to use it for a more generic sentiment. I thought this would be a great card to send someone to see how things are going. The papers are by Lasting Impressions and I thought they would be fun. The sentiment is computer generated.

Age Doesn't Matter...
I love this mouse stamp from Hambo Stamps called "Say Cheese." I have always thought he was so cool looking and it was fun to color as well. I didn't have their saying that goes with, so I had to come up with something on my own. I drew a blank. Gotta love Google...I managed to find this funny saying and thought it was perfect!
I think the patterned paper is from one of the Basic Grey collections (pet maybe?)...I also used one of my new Tim Holtz Emossing folders on the other half.

For My Niece Kaitlyn
My oldest niece Kaitlyn marched in her first ballgame of the year this past Friday night, this card is for her! These aren't her band colors, but I thought the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye-Abbey Road Collection made me think of the turf and lines...(my warped mind I guess).
The stamps are by Hambo Stamps and feature this cute little marching band of chicks and the hilarious birthday parade sentiment. I actually cut the sentiment in half...on the inside it reads "So... what do you want, a parade? I think that is a scream!

Is Summer Over Yet?
I guess you have been wondering if I would EVER surface again...I was beginning to wonder myself!!! It was a crazy busy summer with my job and then after it was over, I proceeded to get sick...I have been off for a bit over 2 weeks and was sick most of it. GADS... Well, I have about one week left and I am trying to make the most of it.
In addition to being offline for some time, I am also behind on my Hambo Stamps Design Team duties, so in the next little bit, I hope to catch up!
My first card features the Wee Henry Snorkel digi stamp and the life preserver from Hambo Stamps. I colored him up and paired him with some cute patterned paper by My Mind's Eye from the Quite Contrary line. I used my Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder to create the waves and then cut out the life preserver to use as an accent. I never made it to a pool all summer, so I guess I am living vicariously through Wee Henry!

M.I.A. for a while
Hello there! My job working for a summer music festival is about to go "off the charts" in terms of time spent away from my beloved Copic markers and card making...(insert sad face here). I have not been posting for a while, but it is going to get worse!!! I will try to get some things posted off and on throughout the summer...SORRY!!!! I love sharing with ya...Thanks to my faithful visitors...I should be back up and running in August! Well...maybe not RUNNING!

The Great Storage Unit Search
I know I can count on the crafting community to help me out on this one!
I purchased 2 carrying cases from a JoAnn's Fabric store about 4 or 5 years ago...maybe even longer! I originally bought them for another purpose, but have found that they work great for storing my stash of ribbons. I had one of the local printers cut some chipboard rectangles and I wrap my ribbon around them and secure them with hair rubber bands.
Why am I telling you this story??? Well, I have outgrown the two I have and would LOVE to have one or two more. I have been unable to find them in a JoAnn's store locally or online. If ANYONE knows of a place I could purchase them, please let me know!!!!
The ones I have are orange, but they had other colors and I don't care what color they are! If any of you have one and would be willing to part with it, I will make you a deal!
These storage boxes have dual openings and individual compartments on each side. I have some pictures below so you can see what I am talking about. It was difficult to get a good picture due to the reflection, but I think they are good enough for you to see what I have.
I hope to hear from someone soon!!!! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Hambo Sketch Challenge #8
I had a lot of fun with this sketch by MacKenzie!
I wanted to use the digi stamp I won in the One and Done Auction last Thursday. I loved the cool cat. He has some serious cattitude! Since he reminded me of the free Cool Cat digi at Hambo Stamps, I decided to use a miniature version of that one for one of the smaller circles.
I also used some of the grosgrain ribbon from Hambo to create the medallion in the center. I stuck the ribbon to a piece of paper and cut it out using a Nestabilities circle on my Cuttlebug....sort of....I tried cutting it several times, but it never finished cutting through so I had to cut it with scissors to finish it out. I missed a bit so the circle is a bit lopsided in a few places, but it is danged close enough!!! I also used their "Stay cool" stamp to finish it out.
As usual, all images colored with Copics:
Cats: C00, C0, C1, C3
Collar/Innertube: YG11, YG13, YG17
Oranges: YR12, YR14, YR18
Noses: R81, R83
Mouth: R22, R24
Flip Flops/Umbrella: B00, B02, B04
Background: BG0000

The Muddier the Better?
I love this little guy from Mo's Digital Pencil. I just fell in love with that adorable face! Who could possibly be mad at him even if he was covered in mud from head to toe? The papers are from a line by We R Memory Keepers called "White Out." The buttons and ribbon are from my stash.
I created this card using a sketch layout by Liza, a new Dream Team member for Mo's Digital Pencil. They are offering a chance to be a guest Design Team member for May, so I figured why not? I love the sweet style of the stamps and decided to give it a shot.
If nothing else, I hope my card puts a smile on your face!

Tribal Dance Fun...
This one took FOREVER to color, but it turned out so cute I can't complain! This card uses a whole series of digital and regular stamps from Hambo Stamps. The big jungle background is a digital stamp...all others are regular rubber stamps. I wish you could see the Spica marker bling on the fire and the torch....it looks so sparkly....
The sentiment that goes with this card is meant to be an inside and out set, but it took me so long to color the front, I couldn't bring myself to cover any of it up! So....I put them both on the inside with the scary totem as well...

You're a Lifesaver!
This is one of Hambo Stamps newer images and sentiment that I have been wanting to use. I used one of the new papers from the Basic Grey line "Green at Heart." I love the vibrant colors and thought it looked very sunny...thus the decision to use this summery image. I also had the chance to use some more of the yummy grosgrain ribbon from Hambo Stamps!

Long Time No Sea
I just had to create a card with these funky fish from Hambo Stamps. I thought the sentiment was a nice pairing for this card as well. I love these fish, but if you love them, you better get 'em while you can. They are on the retiring list, so hurry up and add them to your collection before it is too late!!!

I also added a LOT of BLING from my Spica marker, but alas it does not show up in the photo...

Feeling Blue?
I was going to color this cutie pie from Hambo Stamps in some bright red colors, but when I saw this ocean-y looking paper, I decided to go in another direction! Just had to make him a blue-shelled crab and added the sentiment to match his mood... I almost put some "googlie eyes" on him/her, but thought it might be too silly...

Jellyfish fun
I love this cute jellyfish stamp from Hambo...I decided to pair him with the anemones stamp. The paper is some from Cosmo Cricket. Thought it was kind of bubbly looking, but in a bright FUN way! The background is actually a deep purple, but the pic makes it look black. I also used some pretty light blue ribbon from Hambo as well!

Under the Feather?
I love this stamp by Inky Antics... The sentiment that is on the inside says "Heard you were under the feather...hope you feel better soon."
I wanted to keep this one simple in terms of colors used so it would have a more monochromatic look. I liked the way it turned out!
