I have been seeing a lot of folks using colored pencils on Kraft paper lately, so I had to pull out my pencils and give it a try myself. Such a totally different look, but I am loving it! So soft. This is a digital image from A Day For Daisies that I thought was so precious. I have a few more cards using this technique that will be posted soon!

Birthday Wishes
This is a card I made for a dear friend for her birthday. This is a digital stamp called Japanese Lanterns I got from Prairie Fairy a long time ago but had never used it. I absolutely love how this card turned out! I think I may have to do this same card with other color combinations in the future! I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the patterned paper to add some additional texture.
Hambo Hoedown Challenge Card
It has been a LONG time since I have been able to participate in a Hambo Hoedown Challenge. Since I am recuperating from recent surgery, I decided to throw my hat in the ring!
This week, the challenge is to use bubbles in your card. Some of the design team used the new digi set called Test Tubes by Hambo Stamps, while others just used bubbles with other Hambo stamps. I thought the Test Tube set was pretty dang funny, so I chose to use it as well.
I had a lot of fun with this...I used a variety of bubbles (embossing and bubble DP). I even used the Spica pens to add some glitter (AKA...tiny bubbles) to the liquids in the tubes and beakers. Although you can't really see it in the photo, the larger beaker with the green liquid has a pop-up of the green liquid on top of the main image. I rounded it out so that it looks like it is curved.
I am glad I was able to play along this week! Check out the other samples and entries over at the Hambo Hoedown Blog!

Birthday Card for Kaitlyn
I made this for my nieces 18th birthday. Still can't believe she is 18!!! I used a set from Paper Smooches called Nine Lives. I set this one up so that it looked like the kittie was in a window of a store. It is hard to see from the photo, but the awning over the window is popped up to look like a real awning. I can be clever sometimes!
Penguin Christmas Card
This is the card I made to hold my Christmas present for my two nieces. I had been wanting to use this digital image by Mo Manning for some time and finally got around to coloring it up. I love the way it turned out!
Catching up with Posting!
Hello all! I know I have been MIA for a LOOONNNGGG time... My life has been crazy and I just haven't found the time to post my creations. I have been making some cards, so the posts have just been piling up since early December! I am going to post them over the coming days to catch up. I am at home recuperating from surgery, so I will use this time to add posts.
First up is a Christmas card I made (YES...I am THAT behind!). It features a digi stamp called bundeer from Prairie Fairy. Sorry the photo is so dark. It must have been taken late at night... I love this little Bundeer image. The buck teeth make me smile every time I see them!
