Welcome to "Broadway Bound!" sponsored by Hambo Stamps! Today Hambo customers and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you fun creations that depict Broadway show titles! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Kecia you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

A prize will be awarded to one participant whose Broadway-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog,
Talk to the Ham, on Tuesday, September 25.

We love comments any time, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, September 23 at 5 PM CST.  Don't miss it!

I don't know about you...but I have always loved doing Rebus puzzles.  This card is my take on a rebus.  It ended up being different than my brain envisioned, but I hope you will get it!  I am not going to share it out loud...I want to make you work for it! LOL  My card features the King Digi Stamp at Hambo.  The ampersand was done on the computer and the eye is compliments of some random Google search!

Now dance on over to Kris for another great Broadway show!

Beach Bum

I think this is one of my favorite cards of late...this cute digi image by Mo Manning is adorable.  This was a requested card creation and I think it turned out awesome!  I kept the colors a bit soft and had fun playing around with the browns and the Spica markers to try to re-create the sand. I may have to duplicate this one sometime to keep!

Bunny Love Part Deux

I got a request for another bunny love card for a little boy.  I decided to use a more whimsical paper for the background.  Love this one too!  I just adore that cute bunny....

Coffee Monkey

This card was made for a co-worker's birthday.  He is a coffee afficionado, so I thought the Changito Monkey with the coffee cups was just perfect!  Instead of the sentiment that came with the Stampendous set, I decided to use another one for fun. I think the sentiment is from Hambo Stamps...forgot to look that one up!

And STILL More Technique Cards

Okay...I am sure you may be getting tired of these, but I have been having so much fun!  This first card is using a similar technique to the others recently posted...I took a template and masked off the rectangle...I then sponged on various colors of ink and then overlapped some images in the background. I finished it off with an awesome saying from Wordsworth stamps.  I loved the color combo!

Next up is a card using sponging and various background stamps.  The focal image is from Just for Fun Stamps (I think)..the sentiment is from Whipper Snapper.

The next three cards feature more of the embossed image that is overlayed with sponged color and images. I decided to try to use a colored cardstock behind instead of white.  It is definitely a more subtle look, but I likey! This pink delight uses a tree stamp from Hero Arts and the sentiment is also from a Hero Arts sentiment set.

Since Fall is one of my favorite times of  the year, I decided to try some earthy colors and leaves/trees.  These were done on kraft cardstock. The leaf is an old PSX stamp, the sentiment is from a Hero Arts Sentiment Set and the acorn is from Printworks. The large tree is from Art Impressions and the sentiment is from the same Hero Arts Sentiment Set.

The final one to share is for a loved one of someone in the EMF family...They were diagnosed with breast cancer.  This card was using a set from an unknown company from years ago.  I think it is one of those small unmounted rubber sets.  I used the ribbon as the focal point and the set had many words of encouragement which I used to create the text in the background.  I wanted her to know that she has many people on her side!

Technique Fun!

Okay...I am having soooo much fun with the one layer technique.  I found a variation over on Heather's blog and wanted to give this one a try!  It uses heat embossing and sponging on the color.  I made two cards using that style and will definitely have to try some more! If you go visit her blog...you will have to look around.  She has some AMAZING cards!  I definitely have to try more of her ideas.

The first one was inspired by the yellows Heather used on her card.  I decided to use a really cool sun stamp from JudiKins as my focal image.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Sentiment set.  Perfect!

The second one features several snowflake stamps. I think one is an old PSX stamp and the other is a PrintWorks stamp.  Sentiment...not sure...another unmounted. I love the blue colors of this one!

That is it for now.  I am all caught up until I make some more cards!

Cards featuring a cool technique

After I made the sympathy card using the acrylic block for a background, I was eager to try more using that technique and also the one layer wonder style!  I got together with some friends this past week and we had a blast making cards using those techniques!  Below are the cards that I made that night.  Can you believe that I didn't use ANY Copic Markers?  Me either!

I will definitely have to do some more of these.  Super simple and oh so much fun!!!  The first one features a really pretty Penny Black bird stamp.  Sentiment is from a Whipper Snapper set.

The next features a sentiment stamp from Wordsworth (I think). I used some paper with a deckled edge on this one.  It is a very light-weight paper, but I thought it would be elegant.

Next up is a card that features an Art Impressions tree stamp and a sentiment from Whipper Snapper.

I had a small stamp set from Unity Stamps with butterflies and a sentiment.  I decided to use that on this next one.  I broke the rule of one layer a bit by embossing the butterflies.

The next two were created the same, but using two different color pallettes.  I loved the way these turned out.  Definitely going to try some other color combos for this one!  The butterfly image is from Inkadinkado. Sentiment from a Stampin' Up set.

Using that same idea, I created one using a balloon stamp from Inkadinkado.

This last one of the night features an older wheat stamp from JudiKins. Sentiment I think is an older Hero Arts stamp.  I unmounted it some time ago, so I am not sure. I had to add the tiny ribbon to jazz it up a tiny bit!

I made a card for myself!

I got a cute set of stamps from Paper Smooches and haven't had time to play with them much.  I just love the sentiment on the card below and it will be prominently featured in my office.  You never know when you need a little escape!

Sympathy Cards

Recently, one of my friends lost her father-in-law to cancer. Below is the card I made for her and her husband.  I tried a new technique I saw on line that is a one layer wonder style of card using an acrylic block to create the background pattern.  I did a variation on the one layer and added a popped up butterfly die that I got at the Stamping show in July.  I thought it turned out really pretty.

This one is the one I made for his wife.  I kept it super simple.  It is using a digi stamp from A Day for Daisies.  I hope she likes it.

More Catching Up...

Here are some more creations that I wanted to share!  This was one I made for my Brother for Father's Day (yes...I am that far behind!).  This features on of the crazy Changito Monkey stamps from Stampendous.  He is the "grill master" at his house, so I thought this was fitting!

Next up is the one I made for my grandfather for Father's Day. It features a fun digi stamp from Prairie Fairy.  I just adore this bunny.  Meant to use it for a Valentine's card, but it never happened.  I know he loved this one...even if it was a bit "mushy"!

Next up is a card I made for a sick co-worker.  I have no idea who made this stamp and sentiment.  I stamped up some several years ago and recently found them in a large pile of "to do" images.

This card was made for my Aunt Sue's Birthday.  I was pressed for time, and had colored up this Stampin' Up image some time ago using my Twinkling H2O's.  I was able to put this one together pretty quickly since I already had an image done.

More Tomorrow!!!

Catching up a bit...

It has been quite a while since I posted any creations here.  It was a crazy busy summer and then during my time off in August, I was so tired from the crazy summer, I did a lot of nothing!  Then, I got sick!  Still have a cough, but finally feeling better!  I am going to post several cards over the next few days that have been sitting on my hard drive waiting to get posted.  I won't be posting the Copic Colors used as usual to save time, but if you have any questions, feel free to comment and I will let ya know!

The first three feature some fun digis from Bugaboo Stamps.  I just love this grumpy lady.  Sums up my sentiments most days! LOL

I have a few more digis from this line of stamps that need to be colored up and turned into cards. Sometime soon I hope!
