Card Backlog!

It has been a while since I posted cards here. I have been making them, but finding time to post them has been challenging. Therefore, I am posting a bunch of cards made in the past few months with you today.

The first card is one using a commissioned digital stamp from Hambo Stamps. I sure miss their company's stamps! The image is a caricature of the Bedford County Courthouse in Shelbyville, TN. I love that it still represents the stateliness of the courthouse without going to cartoonish!

This one features a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I think it is a retired image, but I think it is so cute!

This cat card was made for my uncle's birthday. I love the cats in this set! I am not sure of the company for this one. I got it online.

This was for a friend. I believe the stamps are from an older Stampin' Up set.  Loved the colors on this one.

Another birthday card for a friend. I am pretty sure this is also an older Stampin' Up stamp. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Cards featuring a cool technique

After I made the sympathy card using the acrylic block for a background, I was eager to try more using that technique and also the one layer wonder style!  I got together with some friends this past week and we had a blast making cards using those techniques!  Below are the cards that I made that night.  Can you believe that I didn't use ANY Copic Markers?  Me either!

I will definitely have to do some more of these.  Super simple and oh so much fun!!!  The first one features a really pretty Penny Black bird stamp.  Sentiment is from a Whipper Snapper set.

The next features a sentiment stamp from Wordsworth (I think). I used some paper with a deckled edge on this one.  It is a very light-weight paper, but I thought it would be elegant.

Next up is a card that features an Art Impressions tree stamp and a sentiment from Whipper Snapper.

I had a small stamp set from Unity Stamps with butterflies and a sentiment.  I decided to use that on this next one.  I broke the rule of one layer a bit by embossing the butterflies.

The next two were created the same, but using two different color pallettes.  I loved the way these turned out.  Definitely going to try some other color combos for this one!  The butterfly image is from Inkadinkado. Sentiment from a Stampin' Up set.

Using that same idea, I created one using a balloon stamp from Inkadinkado.

This last one of the night features an older wheat stamp from JudiKins. Sentiment I think is an older Hero Arts stamp.  I unmounted it some time ago, so I am not sure. I had to add the tiny ribbon to jazz it up a tiny bit!

More Catching Up...

Here are some more creations that I wanted to share!  This was one I made for my Brother for Father's Day (yes...I am that far behind!).  This features on of the crazy Changito Monkey stamps from Stampendous.  He is the "grill master" at his house, so I thought this was fitting!

Next up is the one I made for my grandfather for Father's Day. It features a fun digi stamp from Prairie Fairy.  I just adore this bunny.  Meant to use it for a Valentine's card, but it never happened.  I know he loved this one...even if it was a bit "mushy"!

Next up is a card I made for a sick co-worker.  I have no idea who made this stamp and sentiment.  I stamped up some several years ago and recently found them in a large pile of "to do" images.

This card was made for my Aunt Sue's Birthday.  I was pressed for time, and had colored up this Stampin' Up image some time ago using my Twinkling H2O's.  I was able to put this one together pretty quickly since I already had an image done.

More Tomorrow!!!

Sympathy Card

This is the card I made for my co-worker and her husband.  They both love the ocean, so I thought I would try out the new Embossing Folder that my friend let me borrow from Spellbinders. I just love the shells in the background!  I embossed it and distressed it to bring out the design.  The shell is from a Stampin' Up set that I had not yet used.  I stamped it in a chocolate brown chalk ink on glossy white paper and once it was dry, I buffed it to make it shine!

The ribbon is some from my stash that I bought a long time ago at Michael's and the pearl discs are from a jewelry show an even LONGER time ago.  I love it when I finally get to use something that I have had for a while.  Actually...truth be told, I finally found them when I was cleaning out my "doo-dad" drawer....  On the inside I used a stamp from Inky Antics.  It reads....

The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand,
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth
still lingers on the land,
The music stops, and yet it echoes
on in sweet refrain...
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.

Thank You Card Extravaganza

Last week I created a bunch of Thank You cards for a co-worker who recently lost her mother-in-law.  I thought it might be nice to have some pretty cards to send to those special people who helped them during their difficult time. I had a friend come over and make a few as well!  It is nice to have some stamping friends who can come lend a hand!

I decided to keep things simple and went with mostly mono-chromatic variations using the same stamps.  It is a bit of a hodge podge of stamps from Magenta, Impression Obsession, Just for Fun, Hampton Arts, Inkadinkado, and Stampin' Up...I think that is all!  Even though I REALLY wanted to add some buttons, brads, ribbons, etc., I refrained.  I didn't want them to have to pay a fortune in postage and to have to use special envelopes to mail them!

Believe it or not, there was nary a Copic Marker used on these projects!  I know...but I knew it would take too long to do all of the coloring, so I used good old fashioned ink pads for color (except for one where I colored the stamp with Memento markers).

I hope you enjoy the bounty!  Below are close-ups of all of the cards and their variations.

Another Birthday card....This time for a guy at work... I love this vintage Stampin' Up Set... The paper is by Basic Grey. He is a cat person, so I thought this might work!

A Quickie Holiday Card

I needed a classy holiday card and came up with this idea. I used a stamp from the Lovely as a Tree set by Stampin' Up, the cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder and some sheer wide snowflake ribbon. I added some stickles and brads to complete the card.
